Addendum - Vultures Cartoon

My wife pointed out that my cartoon Blog is utterly devoid of cartoons. So, here is a cartoon I made earlier in order to whet your salivating appetite. Bon appetit.

In the Beginning...

This is entirely new ground for me, but the intention of this Blog is to, er, is to... um. It will act as a record of my determination to -to, um. It will act as a window on my decisiveness and... *sigh*

I am embarking on a career as a cartoonist. It is not my day job, but I want it to be. I will post examples of my past work at some time in the future, as and when it is published. Quite a bit of my stuff has appeared on the Cartoonist's Club of Great Britain site in the weekly caption competition. My intention is to tweak some of my entries for a broader audience (readership?) as I don't feel it fair to use somebody else's caption for my own (possible) gain. I also have a long term project in mind, but more of that anon, because I think it could be quite lucrative (clue: it involves drawing cartoons).

My real name is Brendan McGuire, but I acquired the nickname Brendini from workmates many (God! A good many) years ago when I was The Amazing Brendini - amateur magician and children's entertainer. I had great fun doing that, children love adults (especially those with a posh accent and rather haughty demeanour) being silly (an assistant from the audience would whack me over the head with a giant magic wand). A mix of magic and slapstick, then. All hugely enjoyable, but my first love has always been cartoons. The Beano, Tom and Jerry, Warner Brothers, Punch, Private Eye, Odham's comics: they have all been a source of joy and delight for me over the years. I want to be a part of that and this Blog will act as an informal record of my progress.

Now, read on...
